The Movember Foundation is a leading global charity committed to changing the face of men’s health by funding groundbreaking projects worldwide. Since its inception in 2003, it has grown into a massive worldwide movement, using the power of moustaches grown during November ("Movember") to spark conversation and raise critical funds.

The foundation challenges men to stop dying too young by actively targeting the most pressing crises in men's health: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

With more people looking to unplug from the digital world, analog "grandma hobbies" like crocheting, gardening, baking, and birdwatching are making a major comeback — especially among young people craving a way to slow down — and experts say these activities are particularly therapeutic because they allow us to make mistakes and focus on the joy of creating, rather than perfection.

Research also shows that crafting and hands-on hobbies are associated with decreased odds of mild cognitive impairment, reduced stress, and stronger social connections — benefits that cross racial and socioeconomic boundaries. Sometimes the most powerful mental health tool isn't a new app or a supplement, it's a ball of yarn and a little patience!

FACT: No one chooses to be mentally ill; however, our choices can exacerbate or mitigate mental illness. Mental illness is a challenging struggle that many would rather not have to deal with if they had the choice.
